Love Where You Live

I am so grateful to have been born in Canada. I miss friends and family back in Ontario very dearly (especially this past year) but BC is home. It is a place where I feel most alive. A place where I can live a life I am in love with and to me that is oh so very important. We only have one life to live. One precious life that is fragile and exciting and scary and sad and fast and slow and heartbreaking and beautiful and amazing and a million other things all at once. We all have different life circumstances that have led us to where we are but we also are the masters and creators of our own destinies. All of our thoughts, words, and actions have brought us to where we are in this very moment. So make sure you live these precious moments in a little bit of awe and wonder and juice it for all it is worth. Soak up every last moment of ordinary and extraordinary and maybe tonight hold your hands at your heart and say a little extra thank-you.

Beauty at East Sooke Park

It is extremely challenging to put into words what I love most about BC. It is like trying to describe a warm hug that fills your heart and sets your soul on fire in the most amazing way possible. With the vast variety of delectable cuisine, the talented artists, the friendly people, and the kind of lifestyle we are fortunate enough to live, we have to pinch ourselves to see if it is real. But for me it is the nature. It is the endless forested trails that have healed me time and time again. It’s the beautiful beaches and surf that have reignited something deep inside. It is the wildflowers and mountains that have set me free. It is the animals and wildlife that have reminded me of our responsibility to protect this earth. And it is the fresh, clean, wonderful air that courses through my veins giving me life. It is like magic. You don’t quite understand it but you feel it so fully and are enchanted by its beauty every single day. We live in one of the best places in the universe and for that I am eternally grateful.
